Vintage Vamp Bracelet - Vintage Assemblage Jewelry
The black "V" shaped Art Deco incised stones on this bracelet say it clearly: vamp, seductress, flirt. Perfect words to describe the 1920's "It Girl," just the sort of girl F. Scott Fitzgerald would have written a novel about. The girl who would casually wear an attention-getting sparkler like this bracelet to cocktail parties and champagne brunches. The weighty Vintage Black Stones in this bracelet, rare and unusual, were discovered on a recent trip to Nashville in a beautiful little shop that specializes in Vintage Beads. The stones are cool to the touch and smooth on the back. Clearly vintage, and probably Czech in origin, the backs of the stones show markings from the manufacturing process. Each stone had an indentation for a jewel; I added new Swarovski Aurora Borealis coated Topaz Crystals for sparkle. Linked together with handmade Czech Glass beaded links of Sterling Silver wire and handmade double Sterling Silver jump rings, the bracelet ends in a stunning, rhinestone encrusted Vintage Clasp from the 1920s. The silver colored metal clasp retained all of its original gems save one--the center stone, which I replaced with a Swarovski. The clasp works smoothly and closes the eight-inch long bracelet securely so that it slouches artfully around your wrist. Of course today's "It Girl" wouldn't wait for a special occasion to wear this beauty--it adds a bit of sparkle and snap to casual outfits, too!
