Chocolate Secret Keeper Earrings
Chocolate Secret Keeper Earrings
You might look at these amazing handmade fan-shaped copper beads and think that they are very, very old. Maybe ancient. Actually, these enameled brown hollow beads aren't even vintage. But that is only one of the secrets these lovelies keep. You see, not so long ago an elderly artisan was hired by a major bead company to create cloisonne beads. He produced these fan-shaped pretties in black, green, red, and brown enamel and ornamented them with tiny silver shapes reminiscent of ancient Chinese cloisonne. Measuring about an inch wide and half an inch high, and with their gorgeous fan shape, these beads were a standout for earring designs. Sadly, the elderly artisan passed away unexpectedly. The bead company assumed that another employee could easily replicate these beads, but they found out otherwise; no one had the skill to make these beads. As you might imagine, there are very few of these beads left, and when they are gone they will not be coming back.
I've embellished the fans with lots of silver-plated spacer beads, a vintage cloisonne bead the color of the summer sky, and a tiny faceted Czech glass bead. Wire wrapped on a silver-plated pin, these earrings dangle from mawjanga's long, gracefully, handmade sterling silver ear wires. Overall, the earrings measure 1.75 inches from the top of the wire to the bottom of the pin.
Add these earrings to your list of favorites---these are truly rare and one of a kind.
