Hidden Heron Pin
Hidden Heron Pin
Some treasures are put away, forgotten, and found years later looking aged but more beautiful than when they were originally created. Like this assemblage pin, handmade from an old but never used brass East Lake Victorian-style stamping of an heron, hiding in foliage at the edge of a pond. This stamping is so rare that it actually took me a two-year search to find it. Given a simple, hand-applied patina and set with Swarovski jewels, the stamping is backed by a reproduction brass piece treated to a rusty patina. A secure pin closure is riveted to the backing. Overall, the pin measures 3 inches long by 1 inch wide. Looking like a treasure that's been sadly misplaced but joyously found years later, this one of a kind pin is certain to be a piece you'll wear often.
