It's a jungle out there--the fight to survive exists on every level, even in the insect world. Take this beetle staredown that occurs on this beautiful large brass leaf. The leaf, looking as if it's been torn from an exotic bloom, has been hand colored with mawjanga's rusty Island Gypsy patina. Two vintage French brass beetles, one large and one small, wear a deep antique patina and are riveted in place at opposite ends of the leaf. Sparkling like drops of fresh dew, seven rare glass navettes are fastened around the leaf's perimeter. This large statement pin, measuring 3 3/4 by 3 5/8 inches, secures with a locking pin on the back. All metal parts have been sealed and waxed. You know what they say--somedays the beetle gets you and somedays you get the beetle!
