Cleo's Curse

This is truly a one-of-a-kind statement necklace that Cleopatra herself would approve of. The brass neckpiece measures a commanding 5 inches wide by 4 inches deep. A pair of brass snakes with crystal eyes have been given a heavy patina and face off above a rare vintage glass cabochon depicting a cameo of Cleopatra. The black glass cabochon, which is from the 1950s, measures about 1 1/2 inches by 1 1/4 inches and is set in a lace-edged brass setting and backed by an ornate brass floral stamping with a hand-applied deep green patina. All metal pieces are sealed and waxed and securely riveted to a brass backing. The necklace itself is rosary style, handmade of large faceted topaz colored Czech glass beads, and sturdy brass wire. Half of the beads boast vintage bead caps with prongs as pointy as serpent tongues, the other half are left bare to reflect the light. The 20-inch necklace closes with a handmade hook that allows you to customize the length. A wire wrapped Swarovski dangle adds a final bit of sparkle.
