Hera's Feather Assemblage Pin

Hera's Feather Assemblage Pin

$40.00

Peacock feathers have long held a multitude of meanings. The peacock was the patron bird of the Greek Goddess Hera, who placed the "eyes" on the feathers to symbolize the all-seeing knowledge and wisdom of the heavens. Generally, peacock feathers represent pride, nobility, and glory. Because peacocks can eat poisonous plants with no ill effects, their feathers also represent incorruptibility and immortality. So lots of good reasons here to wear a peacock feather, especially if it is a detailed image of the feather transferred to a glass cabochon. Much more durable that way! The cabochon measures about 1 inch long by 3/4 of an inch wide. It is set in a scalloped lace edge setting, backed by vintage filigree and an antique brass keyhole escutcheon. The entire assembly is riveted to a reproduction brass stamping. It closes securely with a pin back. One-of-a-kind and handmade, this is a unique pin you'll enjoy wearing.
