Since ancient times people have worn amulets for luck, protection and guidance as they made their way across their world and through their lives. Consider, then, these meaningful amulets collected on a triple circle bail that I crafted from a recycled new, old stock 1980s brass hair barrette. Suspended from the patina'd bail are five amulets to see you through your longest days. For luck, an old jade carved cicada, measuring about an inch long, is wire wrapped on an ornamental pin and topped with a tiny Czech glass bead. Next, a rare vintage detailed plastic walnut charm is added to promote change and acceptance. A carved bone feather, about two and a half inches long, offers the hope that your troubles may always be light. The agate crescent moon, wire wrapped on a handmade pin and bracketed with tiny carved copper beads, promotes intellectual growth and creativity. Last, a handmade glass covered heart-in-hand charm, designed to look very vintage with a rough texture and a copper wash, was added so that you may always be charitable and give from the heart. All of the amulets are fastened to the bale with thick, handmade copper jump rings. The bail, measuring about two and a quarter inches wide, attaches to a hand beaded rosary style chain of unusual Czech glass beads in soft greens, golds, and browns that look like the seeds of an exotic plant. The nineteen and a half inch long chain closes in the front with a handmade copper hook that was tumble polished, sealed and waxed for strength and sparkle. Fun to wear, this meaningful piece is sure to attract attention and compliments!
